Commissioned as an audiovisual essay on terrestrial solitude, 'Chroma & Silence' documents the transition of polar daylight into twilight across Iceland's desolate southern coast. Captured across 14 consecutive twilight cycles with anamorphic optics.
The Tension & Challenge
Filming in sub-zero maritime gales with unpredictable volcanic sandstorms demanded rigorous mechanical weather-sealing while preserving optical fidelity and subtle shadow gradations.
Creative Methodology
We committed to zero synthetic lighting, using only natural low-angle polar sun bounced with oversized unbleached muslin. The optical palette leaned into heavy anamorphic flares and extreme shallow depth of field, transforming raw terrain into abstract emotion.
